stock exhaust piping is 1.5" or so ID. the HKS is a 2" ID exhaust, about what the stock SC exhaust. the stock SC exhaust has been dyno proven to not be a restriction until ~200hp. the HKS unit is a little lighter though, and a tiny bit louder than stock (though still very quiet compared to many aftermarket/custom exhausts)

2" is more than enough for my 1.6L that will maybe hit 190whp someday.

it ran me $340 shipped for the muffler :spitdrink:

still waiting on my exhaust. but in the mean time i addressed some issues. yesterday i built a skid plate/ smooth underbody panel that will smooth out the rear of my car where the exhaust is. airflow is normally all over the place under there, and my exhaust was the lowest part of my car. so i wanted to build something to protect it. i still need to trim paint it once the HKS gets here. so no shots of it yet because it isnt the prettiest of things just yet.

i also chopped up my quarter panels a bit more. my rear tires were rubbing on any turn that was reasonably hard, so more clearance was needed.

and how the car sits (damn she looks cool right now...)

    i have a few in mind. we'll see :p

one of the main reasons for selling is because i realized if i want them to be flush, i need to get a large spacer (30-35mm) at at that point, i may as well spend an extra few hundred and get better wheels haha

ride quality is fine. just need to correct suspension geometry on some parts. nothing big.

looks like i may need some wheels real soon... the kosei's may be on their way out. maybe the vs-xx too.

these are looking at rear sizing:

SP1R (16x9.5 +19, effective -6 with spacer to clear coilovers)
    awww.rd_tanabe.com_lineup_ssr_sp1r_img_frame_wheel01.jpg

MS1R (16x9.5 +19, effective -6 with spacer to clear coilovers)

    Work Equip 01 (15x9.5 -6)

im kind of leaning toward one of the SSR in silver right now. the 01's are kind of played out

You can't go wrong with any wheel. I would go with the SSR MS1Rs imho.

my car just put the biggest smile on my face. supercharger whine, subtle (sexy) exhaust note, and all it took was a 1st gear pull with the new exhaust.

judging by my calibrated butt dyno, the car feels much better with the exhaust than an open header. loads of torque throughout the powerband.

    im addicted :D

the car scrapes and rubs everywhere. whatever, it looks cool as hell.

exhaust, yes it hangs funny. i made a mount out of round tubing and i misjudged the spot to drill a hole. it will be fixed in the future
    [IMG]

and how the skidplate fits. it actually helps tuck up my exhaust higher up (it will be painted black later)
