to get rid of old fluid there is usually a pet cok (think thats how its spelt) at the bottom of the radiator it will open and let the fluid out most cars have them but sometimes u need to remove the whole thing and dump it

yeah, my car has 3 of those drains. one on the thermostat housing, one on the bottom of the radiator, and one in the frunk in front of the firewall for the heater core.

i may try flushing it all out completely later this week. we'll see.

well my car seems to be completely normal. i thank the ARP head studs for it too! i took her around the block and she seemed fine. let her idle and get up to temp while i cleaned the garage a bit (squeegeed out all the melted snow and slush that fell off her overnight) too.

then i brought her into the shower and shot her all over her face and let it drip down her body. then i wiped her down and put her in her place. :slap: :spitdrink:

so shes now working, clean, and in my garage :)

ill go snap some pics just for shits and giggles. tomorrow i will be picking up that heat gun to do the vinyl (sorry for the delay)

    EDIT:

ill get pics of it on in the next day or two. im working on small details of it right now. i also want to make sure it fully sticks and cures before i stick it outside in the cold weather where it can crack or whatever when it deals with the elements.

the tower is some tower from when i built my computer about 4 years ago. bought it from svc.com, but it looks like it was discontinued. it was like $50 and has 7 case fans. cheap and keeps it cool. (but it is loud :()

here ya go. not the best picture by any means, but at least you can see what it looks like on the car. the red is darker than the paint, but i knew that going in. i actually really like how it turned out overall. all the things i werent happy with when i applied it seemed to mostly disappear once on the car.

of course, i still need to see it during daylight though :p

well tonight my car just decides, "hey, i feel like overheating." so it did just that. it stalled itself out, i turned it back on, temp gauge pegged past hot, then i dropped midway. so i pull over after it pegs itself again and white smoke billows out of the engine bay.

lip it to Jewel (chicago area grocery store) and pick up 3 gal. of distilled water. i put in just about one and its full. so, i turn it to "on" to check the temps, and its almost full cold. so i go drive home from algonquin, IL (about 15 minute drive) and she stays at her normal operating temp.

im thruroughly confused. i say fuck it, and this week i will just swap in the GZE and call it a day. i have all the parts (or soon will once tey arrive). i just didnt get that clutch i wanted, but that can always be swapped in later after this one bites the dust.

the only cooling things i havent replaced were the radiator cap, water pump, and overflow tank cap.

Maybe you need to bleed the system. Might want to replace the radiator cap and overflow tank cap too just because they are so easy to replace (might be expensive though, idk).

i ordered a coolant over flow cap today as well as the thermostat housing petcock (so i can burp any air out of the system from there.)

before, i was only using the radiator petcock and the heater core petcock. so, now that i will have a non broken (butterfly wings broke off of it) petcock, i can get it all out.

i will be ordering an aftermarket radiator cap from daniel at shop response when i get some money.

i cant believe i just spent $27 on a petcock. :bs:

id show a picture, but my photobucket accounts (yes two) exceeded their bandwidth.... :computerrage:

sounds like my $27 petcock should do the trick.
