I've only had one bad experience with police, which wasn't my fault. I took it to court, and won, because they could not produce enough evidence to prove I was actually breaking the speed limit. The rest of the time, I love most cops. My first speeding ticket, I was clocked at 97mph in a 70, but because it was my first time, I was really in a hury, and I was honest, he knocked it down to where my licence wouldn't be taken away. Second ticket, 83 in a 45 (I was passing an old lady in a Buick). I was honest, and it was knocked down again. But I really have to thank the police for my most assinyne moment... I was driving back from Albany in my Accord, and I noticed a group of my old high school friends sitting at a corner lot. I pulled in, and noticed a local sheriff that had helped me during my motor swap. We talked for a second, and he asked if I had found out how fast the car is yet. The clutch just broke in earlier that week, so I decided to show him a good time. He rode shotgun, and we ripped back up the highway, found out the top speed, and drove back. There were a few stoplights between the highway and the corner lot, so I nailed it through 1st and 2nd gear. I topped out 2nd, and crested a hill where a Sylvester PD car was sitting. I looked back to notice it was a noobie that had just joined the force a week ago. She is scrambling through the car, looking for the radio, switches, and clipboards. I don't think much about it, and pull into the corner lot, towards the back. I get out, and so does the sheriff. A few minutes later, the noobie cop pulls into the corner lot, and the sheriff whispers to me, "gimme the keys!" I hand them over, and he walks over to the patrol car. He talks to her for a few minutes, and I hear over the entire crowd, "RICHARD, YOU ASSHOLE!!!!" She trips out for a second, and leaves. Rich, the sheriff, told her HE was driving the Accord. He bailed me out of a $200+ ticket, and losing my license. She clocked me at 72mph in a 30zone.
i wonder if i shouldve called John... what do you say peter? would he have helped me avoid those tickets?
I know littering is illegat but i mean come on, do you really think that he pulls everybody over that he sees throw a cigarette out of the window. I think he was just having a bad day. But you are right it is illegal
umm... idk on that one :ermm: those were pretty much indisputable [71 in a 50 and 56 in a 40] idk call him and see what he says:2cents: that's what i'm doing hsnap: yeah that does sound a little BS, and i'm not even sure that littering is a primary offence [meaning i'm not sure he could have pulled you over on that alone] but cops are human and do have bad days to...
LAPD here are OK and CHP Rookies are dicks. Some CHP Veterans are cool with imports. Dude California sucks ass, some cops have check points and if they see that your car is modified or something they bring there own SMOG mechine. If it dosen't pass, a hefty fine will owned you and maybe some jail time too
