so i was driving home from my buddies' house last night cruising around a steady 45 when i notice headlights coming up quickly behind me. a newer model F150 (still didn't have lisence plates) flies by me. whats funny is that the light ahead is red and hes still hauling ass. Finally he slams the brakes and ends up 1/2 way through the intersection. thank god there was nobody there, would have been pretty bad. i pull up next to him with a smirk on my face. i shouted hey buddy maybe if you slowed down that wouldn't happen. he answers back with a rev. its late, the streets are empty why not. i really wasn't feeling confident about this one. it has a V8 after all. light goes green and i get a slight jump on him. by about 30 we are fender to fender. thats how it stays all the way up to about 85. i couln't believe my little 4banger ran dead even with a 300hp v8. i gave him a thumbs up, but all i got in return was a blank stare of disbelief..hehe :googly: +1 for the tC
Its always fun to bring people down a notch. especially if they have their GF with them haha. The thing that kills the 08 F150 is that it weighs so much. congrats on making him feel good about that 30k spent hahah.
im not a big fan of trucks, although i do like the Tacoma X-Runner. yea i think those F150s are tipping the scales at like 5,000 lbs or so.
understandable, trucks weren't built to drag, they were built to haul stuff around in. With that said... Dodge SRT10 = truck = mid 13s. i hardly think that is considered slow, heck even the F150 Lightning and new Tundras are damn quick for all that weight they need to move around. Anyways, all i have on my tC is a TRD axleback. I took off my K&N filter recently, heard alot of stories concerning those. Oh and its automatic. :banghead:
agreed. i think its more of a toy, than a real "truck". not that the V10 is fuel efficient at all, add all that extra weight of the truck it prolly gets like 3 mpg:roflmao:
yeah my uncle used to have vipers all the time and could really drive them good then came the day he wanted to go pick up 2x4s (wont fit in a viper) and decided to get the truck and when i rode in it it was a blast but always going sideways when u got the gas pressed not always fun we were coming home on the highway from getting the wood and their was a mustang that though he was all balls well my uncle down shifted and let him have it lets just say looking the other way on the highway isnt so much fun we completly went sideways and turned around sorry off topic but funny as hell
