Hey guys check this out guys i bought this about a week ago. -1988 -Supercharged :rocks: -Toyota Mr2 This is the dream barn find everyone would want!!!! Here are a few pics of the car as i found it just 5 miles from my house!!!! I had no idea this guy had it!!!! It turns out it overheated once (without blowing head gasket) and the guy parked it and let it sit for over a year and when he tried to turn it on it wouldnt turn over and then he gave me a ring and said he wanted to get rid of it!!!!! hsnap: Can you guess how much i got it for??? Heres the owner of the car dissapointed at how much he let the car go oke: after i had it running in about 2 hours. :roflmao:
thanks guys for all the positive feedback!!! i actually read the thread on your ride (nachtmensch) right after i got it and i started taking pics of it. looks like we are at about the same page. i also owned a 240 and several other different cars. i got the car for $300 hahaha. ill keep you guys posted. this project will move along quite fast. i already got a new battery, new fuses to replace the blown ones, tires, alignment, brakes, oil change, denso spark plugs, toyota wires, cap, rotor, and the dreaded supercharger oil that was $53 for just 50ml. WTF!!!!! i was pretty pissed. oh well, other than that i primered my hood last night in just 3 hours!! my record time for a hood. it also had two dents that i took out. ill post new pics when i get home later on tonight. later -Gabe
[ps] did you guys notice all the nuts and stuff from the mouse that made a home out of it for a year?:roflmao: haha i also decided to freshen up the trim. i repainted it black. ill also post pics of that. so far alot of work has gone into it. ive only owned this car for about 2 1/2 weeks!!!! :woot:
hey guys, i just came back from the paint shop. the paint that i will be buying will be about $500. thats for the paint, reducer, and hardener:woot: i still dont have the money for the paint and everything but i do have enough primer from the 66' pony that i am also building. hsnap: ill have to get to it sooner or later. anyways ill post the pics up later on tonight. stay tuned yo -Gabe:rocks:
sorry for no pics guys. theres something up with photobucket not leting me upload pics. ill try it again later on tonight again.
ok ok so here are the new pics i promised. sorry for the delay.:computerrage: :woot: the hood actually took only about 3 hours since i started. bbbuuuuutttt...... the trunk was a huge bitch believe it or not. im still not done with it yet. it turns out after i primered it and got back to it the next day the primer bubbled really bad on the trunk. still dont know why. either the surface was contaminated (even though i made sure to clean it with dx330) or it was too cold for the primer. so after it dried i sanded everything down and the same fucken thing happened:chair: :chair: :chair: :chair: . FFFUUUUCCCCKKKK!!!!!! I WILL TRY IT AGAIN TOMMORROW:rocks: LATER
well good luck with it the hood looks amazing an WHITE is my favorite color so u have many thumbs up from me :rocks: :rocks: :rocks: :rocks:
Hood is Trunk... It looks good by the Pic. Maybe the Temp wasnt Right for Paint... Try using a Space Heater in the Garage...oke:
yeah the only thing is that space heaters take alot of power so the energy bill will be much higher. plus the garage is pretty big. i would have to have the heater going for over a day just to bring the temp up. :baby: i think im just going to go to home depot and see how much the heaters with the propane tank will be. they heat up fast.:rocks: and fast is my middle name :roflmao: haha jk i havent had many fast cars. just cars that can handle like a mother thats what its all about:rocks: plus the pony will be the one that goes fast in a straight line. not much elsehsnap: better get back to work before someone sees me.:googly:
