Started out as an every day, girly Mazda. The build has been on-going now for almost 2 years, and I've tried to build a car that will produce good lap-times easily and consistently. My previous car was a Stage-2 (~280bhp) Nissan 200SX RS13 track car, but although it dipped my toe into motorsport, I soon realised I didn't know how to drive the damned thing properly, so went back to basics with the Mazda.

I won't bore you with the specifics unless anyone really wants to know. The car still currently has the OEM B6 1600cc engine, and after 115k miles with minimal modifications made 118.8bhp/105.3lb-ft with an almost perfectly flat torque spread. The suspension work is currently to the spec of the Max5 Championship race cars, and has been part developed by Nurburg Motorsport in Germany with reference to the wheel alignment and damper settings. In drag mode, the car is about as fast as walking pace, maybe slower. She hit 16.8 @ 81mph in the snow on street tyres during a test day a few weeks after I bought her. I'd like to think she's in the high 15s now thanks to a diet and a slight power-hike since that run, plus some proper tyres. In reality, it's too slow for me to bother paying the money for another drag day any-time soon. In circuit mode though, she's beaten enough Ferrari's, Porsches and Motorbikes that I'm having some WWII bomber style ''kill'' markings made up for the side of the hard-top. :devious:

Mine is the red one, the white one belongs to a friend:

I'm not quite sure as of yet what the future will bring. I'm hoping to (finally) get my MSA National B racing licence and build the car to Time Attack specs, which may well see the introduction of a rotary engine into the car. Until then though, I have a TD04 sat in the garage, so I'm just waiting for a manifold and an E-Manage to come up for sale cheaply to run a low psi set-up.
