My headers came here today, but the gasket is bent to hell:furious: . Is this going to cause any problems?? I have attached some pictures of it.

it might be all right all you can do is put it on and try it if it leaks then just remove the header a little and replace it thats all. as long as its tight then it will still hold exhaust gases back there isnt any real rips in it as i can see so it should be good to go. good luck pics please

    Thanks!

I have some pics up in my earlier post "my baby is coming along". But I have alot more pictures on my Honda page. I put the address below.

My main fear with the bent gasket is getting water in my exhaust. Hopefully that wont happen!

like i said if its tight then that should not be a problem and torque the bolts in a criss cross pattern but you should know that

    hmm

By criss cross you mean alternate? Like when I'm putting on a tire?

just dont go from right to left. or left to right. start with far right then far left etc etc...
That gasket is fine. when you bolt the header on it'll smash it flat as a pancake! :D no problemo! as long as there are'nt any tears in it. even then you might just get a little exhaust leak. and i would'nt worry at all about getting water into your exhaust through your header gasket!!! i dont think you could even if you blasted it with a pressure washer! let us know how it turns out!! :D

    haha

Well I'll keep that in mind next time I blast my engine....J/K. I actually didn't like how the gasket lined up either, so I just went and bought a new one for $15. The one it came with actually had separated at one of the creases, and I just didn't like it. The new one fits MUCH better, and is nice and straight...haha :woot: I do have a question on a totally different subject. When I turn on my A/C.....I lose almost ALL acceleration. My idle is right where it should be, and I even tried bumping it up a little to compensate...no luck. Could this be because of the transmission going bad? Or is there something else I should look for?

    I had the Same Problem

Yea I had the Same Problem in All the Civics I have Owned Before... The AC Kills Acceleration... Common to Civic. I maybe Wrong but I have had alot of Civics. Also in other Gas Saving Imports. I always turn off AC and roll down window when trying to whoop some ass, I dont know the cure for this, maybe someone else could chime in an answer this for the both of us... :)

Sometimes I Pull that Power Robbing AC out... :rocks:

    eeek!

If I was to pull the AC out of my car..... I think we would DIE from the heat! This state is no joke in the summertime. Roll up the windows in a muggy summer rainstorm? Fogged up windshield and sweaty gross people. Haha! That really stinks. Hopefully it will be somewhat corrected by the manual..and the headers...and the intake...and whatever else I do! haha. Thanks!!

yeah also try looking into a new compressor that draws less from the motor that will give you good a/c and still good acceleration.
