American Cars suck. It's sorta of a shame that US manufacturers really haven't made any great consumer cars recently. Yeah there is DiamlerChrysler's LX platform (Dodge Magnum, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300) but the platform is that of the previous generation MB E-Class. The new Mustang is arguably the best in 30 years... which isn't saying much if you think about it. The Corvette, definitely a true American sports car but it is Chevrolet's halo car. It isn't really isn't attainable about the average American family and can only hold two. My question is what American cars would you not mind owning?
Here are mine, and yes they're all Fords. IMO the other American manufactures haven't made any cars that have a broad motorsports history... except for the vette but every red neck with money has one:
Ford RS200 Evolution, Group C rally legend
    650bhp out of 2.1li Turbo!!!

Ford GT40 w/ Gulf Regalia, if you don't know about the GT40... *sigh*

Ford GTX1 Roadster, based off 1966 Sebring winning GT40

Ford Focus ST, a Focus with Turbo Volvo I5... and yes its EDM

If I had my choice of an American car to buy right now as a daily driver, I would say a 2005-2006 Ford Focus. They are nice cars, efficient and built by Ford, America's first mass production car manufacturer! That is just my opinion though. I wouldn't trade my 2003 Civic SI for nothing...

    Haha

Well the best American compact (which is a segment owned by Japanese makes) is either the Ford Focus or the Dodge Caliber. The Cobalt is... okay I guess. It doesn't have a Cavalier badge which is nice. If anyone says Saturn Ion, go pull a MGS3 and take swim with some leeches.

well the ford RS200 .. altho they are under the ford trade mark name.. they have nothing to do with american design what so ever... Ford Europe is a completly seperate company!

the ford escort cosworth and focus RS are europe car designed. the US escorts where designed on a similar platform which is why you can make some of the bumpers and body panels fit on the american one as well..

the Ford GT40 is an american engine "351 cleveland" but the chassy and suspension of the car was an english design... so thats mostly a european car as well.... Just like the A/C for Cobra... and the Pantera Del tomaso...

as far as american cars... they cannot be knocked too much.. as far as classy and pure muscle .. .there is no other car in the world that compares...

from the 57 chevy's , 66 pontiac GTO, Ols. 442, the Tucker, Ford Model T, Fairlane GT/A, Mustang california special, the chop top merc's, Mustang GT350 and GT500, Grand torino, Dodge super bee, road runner, the dodge daytona, Saleen super car, dodge Viper GTS-R, Mustang SVO, Mustang Cobra R, .. do i need to go on ...?

American cars are great .. just like import cars they have a bad name due to the owners ... thats is all

well .. Like all cars made all over the world... each type or class of car has a purpose... for Drag... belive me .. nothing beats american Muscle... ask Lisa Kubo that ran 7's in her Saturn LOL... even tho i don't really consider a saturn muscle in any way LOL.... but the feel of a roaring V8 is like nothing else...
